The Committee recommends that the State party ensure that a gender perspective is integrated into disability studies and the human rights of women and girls with disabilities into gender equality and disability agendas.

The Committee recommends that the State party prohibit involuntary medical treatment including abortion and sterilization, without the free, prior and informed consent of the women and girls concerned, regardless of the severity and type of their disability, and provide them with adequate support to take autonomous decisions on their health.
