The State party should combat stereotypes and prejudices against persons with disabilities in the labour market and adopt regulations to address disability-based discrimination, including the denial of reasonable accommodation.
The State party should establish a requirement for universal design in the workplace for employers in the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act, and prepare and implement a strategy on accessibility through universal design of the physical environment and universal ICT in the workplace.
The State party should make active, targeted and systematic efforts to promote the employment of persons with disabilities in the private and public labour markets.
The State party should give a clear mandate and sufficient resources to the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration to improve employment opportunities for persons with disabilities who are interested in entering the labour market.
The State party should consider extending the target for five per cent of new employees in the public sector to be persons with disabilities to the private sector.
