The Committee recommends that the State party review the definition of enforced disappearance in Section 102 (1) (i) of the Penal Code in order to ensure that the law defines enforced disappearance as any deprivation of liberty followed by a refusal to acknowledge such deprivation of liberty or by concealment of the fate or whereabouts of the disappeared person, which place such a person outside the protection of the law, regardless of the duration of the said deprivation of liberty or concealment.
