Women and employment
Recommended measures (3)
The Committee recommends that the State party further strengthen its efforts to promote equal sharing of child-raising and care responsibilities between women and men and to offer flexible working arrangements to women and men in all sectors.
The Committee recommends that the State party adopt the draft gender equality law which would require large companies to have 40 percent of women on their boards; extend this quota to medium-scale companies and to women’s representation at the executive level; and conduct a study on the underrepresentation of women in managerial posts, with a view to identifying potential gender bias and developing strategies to address it.
The Committee recommends that the State party provide training and support programmes combined with active involvement and incentives for employers to facilitate access to the job market by women belonging to underrepresented groups, who are disadvantaged or marginalized because of discriminatory structures, institutions, and systems, with a view to promoting their autonomy.
