Legislative framework for gender equality
Recommended measures (3)
The State party should include a gender-sensitive rather than gender-neutral approach in its legislation, policies and programmes, in line with paragraph 5 of the Committee’s general recommendation No. 28 (2010) on the core obligations of States parties under article 2 of the Convention.
The State party should strengthen the gender equality and non-discrimination requirements in the Assessment Procedure Instructions.
The State party should take the necessary measures to ensure that the new Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law does not erode structural activities for the promotion of gender equality, including by closely monitoring its implementation and by reinstating the reporting obligations for private and public employers in relation to gender as a ground of discrimination, as requested by Parliament.
